WA overflowing with Lotto winners

Less than a week after a South West family collected OZ Lotto’s entire $40 million jackpot, WA’s Lotto winners have kept coming with another three millionaires produced over the Easter long weekend.

On Saturday night one lucky WA player, who purchased their Saturday Lotto ticket from Full Hand Lottery Centre in Karrinyup, collected a $1,382,377 prize.

Then luck struck again last night with another two local players each collecting a million dollars in Monday Lotto.

Last night’s winning tickets were sold at The Lucky Charm Kalamunda and Kingsley Newsagency. It was only in January that Kingsley Newsagency last sold a winning Lotto ticket worth $207,714.

The holders of last night's million dollar winning ticket from the Kingsley outlet were a local Kingsley family who wasted no time coming forward today to claim their prize.

“I walked to the newsagency to check my ticket and the retailer told me I’d won on the first line. It was so hard to believe, I cried the whole way home!” said the woman.

“I rang my son to tell him and he left work to come check on me because he thought I must have bumped my head!”

The prize will be shared amongst close family and will go towards home loans for their kids and a few more holidays.

Lotterywest is waiting to hear from the winners who purchased their tickets from Karrinyup and Kalamunda.

WA’s Division 1 Lotto winners tally has now reached 30 for the year. These winners have shared in over $65 million in prizes.

It’s not only our local Lotto winners that can celebrate after a Lotto draw; with about a third of what is spent on Lotterywest Games going back to support the WA community.

St Vincent de Paul recently received some of the benefits of those who play Lotterywest Games with a $5.7 million Lotterywest Grant. These funds will be used to construct a new head office, state warehouse and distribution centre in Canning Vale.
