WA: Once, twice, three times a Lotto winner

Western Australia’s lucky streak has continued after three Saturday Lotto punters took out almost $720,000 each across the weekend.

The Division 1 winning tickets were sold at The Lucky Charm Atwell; The Lucky Charm Victoria Park; and The Kwinana Hub Lottery Centre & News and mark the 42nd, 23rd and 44th Division 1 wins for WA so far this year.

The Lucky Charm Atwell Harvest Lakes store owner Mark Hawkins said the area was no stranger to lady luck having produced another Division 1 winning ticket less than six months ago.

“Another local retailer in the area produced a Division 1 winning ticket back in March but this is the first for our store,” Mr Hawkins said.

“So 2017 is definitely proving to be a year of luck for Atwell,” he added.

With the suburbs of Victoria Park and Kwinana also producing Division 1 winning tickets last year, The Lucky Charm Victoria Park owner John Greenwell said it seemed the State had been on a roll for some time now.

“A year ago the area produced an instant Lotto millionaire and it was the talk of the town,” Mr Greenwell said.

“We’re delighted to have potentially changed the life of another lucky local,” he added.

Mr Greenwell added although it was great to see so many winners from across WA, it was important to remember that if you didn’t have a win, you still helped the community have one of a different kind.

“Last financial year Lotterywest was able to give back $265 million to the WA community thanks to our customers,” he said.

“So our Division 1 winners aren’t the only ones with reason to celebrate,” he added.
