WA makes Monday million dollar winner

One lucky Lotto player has struck million dollar luck in last night’s Monday Lotto draw after taking home a Division 1 prize.

The winning ticket was sold at Koondoola Plaza Newsagency and was one of two Division 1 winning tickets sold across the nation.

Owner of the Koondoola store Hayden Xu said it was the first Division 1 Lotto winner he had sold since taking over the business 18 months ago. Prior to that, it had been nine years since the store had sold one.

“My goal was to have a big winner in the first year but this is still a pretty good result. Many customers have said I’ve brought luck to the store. Let’s hope this is the start of many more wins to come,” he said.

Hayden said news of the win had started to spread, with lots of excited customers checking their tickets to see if they were holding the million dollar ticket.

“It’s an incredible feeling to know we’ve made someone $1 million richer.  I’d just like to congratulate them and wish them all the very best.”

Lotterywest is still waiting to hear from last night’s winner. A further 9,191 other West Australians took home a prize in last night’s Monday Lotto draw, including two Division 2 winners who each pocketed $4,141.

WA’s tally of Division 1 Lotto winners has now reached 69. These winners have shared in almost $114 million worth of prizes.

When you play with Lotterywest, all of WA wins. Last month, Lotterywest delivered grants worth $4.6 million to 57 local community groups.

Married couple to hire help after winning Set for Life!

A married couple from Mackay have claimed 1st Prize from Set for Life’s Sunday night draw.

The winning wife vowed never to do her dreaded chore of ironing their clothes again, now that she’s able to hire help, since they’ll be receiving $20,000 each and every month for the next 20 years!

“Wow! You wouldn’t believe what this means – absolutely everything! It’s a complete change of lifestyle for us!” the couple said.

The overjoyed couple had a few other ideas about how they would kick off their lives now they are Set for Life.

“There’s a good chance we’ll go on a holiday! We’ll have to go somewhere to hide the smiles on our faces!” she laughed.

“I’ll buy a new car so we can go on some trips down to the North Coast and the Gold Coast. All I want more than anything in the world is for my new car to have a reversing camera – I’ve got very simple taste!

“And another thing I’ll do is buy some new furniture including a lounge suite that reclines! We’re long overdue for an update.

“My children will probably tell us to put the money away but I think I’ll spend it while I can and have a good time! But of course family is the most important. I’ll be able to pay off my kids’ bills – that’s where most of it will go I would say, on the kids.”

Set for Life draws take place every night of the week, 365 days of the year with draws closing at 7pm AWST. If won, there are up to four guaranteed 1st Prizes of $20,000 a month for 20 years in every Set for Life draw.
