WA couple $1.35 million richer after walking the dog

A north of the river couple are WA’s newest millionaires after a spur of the moment decision to buy a Saturday Lotto ticket while out walking their dog.

The couple had no idea they were WA’s latest Lotto winners and checked their ticket while purchasing a Slikpik for this weekend’s $20 million Saturday Lotto Superdraw.

“The news is a complete surprise, we can’t believe it’s real!” said the husband. “We thought we must have won Division 2 when we were told we had to visit Lotterywest’s head office to collect our winnings.”

The couple are the latest to visit the Lotterywest Winners Room after winning $1,354,219 on a ticket purchased from Woodlands Newsagency and Lotteries.

With news of their good fortune still sinking in, the couple say they plan to share the winnings with their family and contemplate an early retirement.

$60 million worth of Division 1 prizes on offer this week!

There are plenty of opportunities for WA Lotto players to share in the Lotto luck this week.

Not only is $20 million on offer in this Saturday’s Lotto Superdraw but tomorrow night’s Powerball has jackpotted to $25 million and Tuesday’s OZ Lotto jackpot is sitting at $15 million.

Tickets for all draws can be purchased up until 6pm on the day of the draw in-store at Lotterywest retailers, through Play Online or by downloading the Lotterywest App.

It’s not just winners that benefit from lottery games, with Lotterywest directly distributing money raised from lottery products back to the WA community to support not-for-profit organisations.

Local groups to receive this support include the Telethon Juvenile Diabetes Family Centre which received a $40,845 Lotterywest Grant in June towards property improvements and equipment to enhance support services for children and young people impacted by Type 1 diabetes in Western Australia.
