Unrealistic plans become a reality for Baldivis couple now Set for Life

WA’s second Set for Life winners from the week have come forward today to officially collect their 1st Prize of $20,000 each month for the next 20 years.

The Baldivis couple said they learnt of the news after a visit to the shops to purchase an umbrella which they really couldn’t afford.

“With bad weather due on the weekend we needed an umbrella but we’d pretty much spent our budget for the week. It was after that I checked my ticket. I was crying when I found out - it just felt so surreal,” the woman said.

“We’d only been talking about struggling to make our next mortgage repayment. It’s been quite tight for money and our small business has not been doing well for the last few years but that’s all about to change now.”

The couple said there were so many more opportunities that were now within reach.

“What we thought was unrealistic is now a reality for us!  We’re going to spoil our parents, go on a family cruise, go fishing more, deck out our house and even buy a top of the range barbeque”

The winning ticket from Tuesday night’s Set for Life draw was purchased from The Lucky Charm Baldivis. It was WA’s second 1st Prize winner in just three nights, following one from Sunday which was sold at The Lucky Charm Midland.

Set for Life draws take place every night of the week. Players can start their 7 day Set for Life entry on any day and tickets start from $8.40.

Upcoming $40 million OZ Lotto jackpot

This week could be a good sign of more good things to come in WA as we count down to OZ Lotto’s $40 million jackpot on Tuesday.

It’s the game’s equal largest jackpot offer this year and Lotterywest said it was expected to create a buzz across WA.

“We’re getting ready for a busy few days and during our busiest hour on jackpot day we estimate about 400 tickets to be churning out of lottery terminals each minute,” she said.

Tickets for the $40 million OZ Lotto jackpot are available until 6pm next Tuesday in-store from Lotterywest retailers, through Play Online, or by downloading the Lotterywest App.

Ticket prices start from $1.20 per game or share the cost of a ticket by asking your retailer for an official syndicate through the terminal.

The WA community is also set to benefit following the jackpot draw with over $8 million expected to be raised to support WA over the game’s six week jackpot roll.

When you play Lotterywest Games, the money stays in WA and supports the community through our statutory support to health, sports and the arts and via direct grants.
