Two times in two years: Gosnells couple collect second million dollar Lotto prize

A married couple from Gosnells has cracked incredible odds to take home their second Division One Lotto win in less than two years.

The middle-aged duo came forward to collect their $1 million prize from Wednesday night’s Lotto draw. They were the only Division One winners in the draw from across the nation.

The couple’s recent luck comes only 18 months after winning a $1 million  Division One prize in a Monday Lotto draw in December 2016.

Both winning tickets were purchased from their local store newsXpress Foothills.

“A good attitude is the key and it’s not if I win, but when,” the Gosnells man said.

“There’s a method to my madness. I pick my own lucky numbers and they’re not based on anything in particular, just ones I like.

“I’ve been playing this set for the last ten years.”

The couple said they’d been “buzzing” since learning of their win with plans for the prize to help their children.

“Everything we do is for the kids and this just means we can set them up for the future,” they said.

The couple were confident another win was just around the corner - joking they’d be back in the Winners’ Room on Monday following this weekend’s $20 million Saturday Lotto Superdraw.

The Superdraw will see the weekly estimated $4 million Saturday Lotto prize pool bumped up to a guaranteed $20 million offer.

Tickets are available until 6pm Saturday from Lotterywest in-store, online or through the app.
