The Mall Newsagency revealed as $20 million Powerball store

Lotterywest has revealed The Mall Newsagency in Perth’s CBD as the lucky store that sold Western Australia’s $20 million winning ticket from Thursday’s Powerball jackpot, which remains unclaimed.

Michael Rollings, who has owned the CBD store for over 25 years, said he’d produced a few Division 1 Lotto and Top Prize Scratch’n’Win winners in this time but nothing as big as this.

“Our last big Lotto winner was two years ago and worth just over $700,000 – $20 million beats that by a long shot,” Mr Rollings said.

“We’re all so thrilled with the news – I think my staff are just as excited as I’m sure the winner will be.

“We can hardly contain ourselves,” he added.

WA’s winning streak continued at the weekend after one lucky local pocketed a $1.3 million prize in the Saturday Lotto Superdraw.

The Division 1 winner was one of 15 nationally who shared in the $20 million Division 1 prize pool.

WA’s winning ticket was sold at Kingsway City Lottery Centre in Madeley and also remains unclaimed.

Over 91,000 other lucky WA players picked up a Superdraw prize, including 27 Division 2 winners who pocketed almost $30,000 each.

Fingers crossed Lotto luck returns tomorrow night when players will have another chance to win big in the $10 million OZ Lotto jackpot.

Players have until 6pm tomorrow to purchase their OZ Lotto tickets from Lotterywest retailers’ in-store, online or through the Lotterywest App.

When you play Lotterywest games, the money stays in WA. Both the Powerball jackpot and the Superdraw raised a combined $10 million to support the WA community. Tomorrow night’s OZ Lotto jackpot is set to raise a further $1 million for WA.
