The final countdown to tonight’s $30 million Megadraw

Western Australian Lotto players could be fulfilling their New Year’s resolutions with a slice of tonight’s $30 million Saturday Lotto Megadraw.

Excitement and anticipation is surrounding WA today with Lotterywest retailers reporting big queues for the largest Saturday Lotto event of the year.

Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone said WA had ended 2015 on a high with a record 99 Division 1 Lotto winners sharing in $263 million worth of prizes.

“That’s the most winners in a year in WA Lotto history and we’re hoping this Lotto luck is here to stay in 2016,” she said.

Over 2015, the suburb of Morley has been crowned WA’s Lotto hot spot selling five Division 1 winning tickets. This was followed by the Perth CBD, Fremantle, Albany and Geraldton which each had three.

Galleria News in Morley had proved a particularly lucky outlet in 2015 selling three of Morley’s five winning tickets, including the ticket which held last week’s $30 million OZ Lotto prize.

Manager of the store, Kayla Cappeau, said it had been packed with lots of Lotto players picking up their tickets.

“Customers have been so excited and sharing their Lotto dreams. We’re all hoping our lucky streak will continue with more big winners tonight,” said Kayla.

“Our customers have faith we can turn more of them into multi-millionaires and with the way we’ve been tracking there’s no reason why we can’t!”

During retailers’ busiest hour, between 11am and 12pm today, Lotterywest is expecting 670 Megadraw tickets to be printed each minute.

With over 350,000 WA winners sharing in over $10 million worth of prizes in last year’s Megadraw, it’s a good idea to try you luck tonight!

Tickets can be purchased until 6pm tonight in-store, through Play Online and the Lotterywest App.

Not only are we expecting thousands of Megadraw winners, sales from the draw are also anticipated to raise close to $8.5 million for the WA community. These funds will be distributed through Lotterywest Grants to help support not-for-profit and charitable groups around the State.
