South West couple celebrate with gourmet snags on the BBQ

After letting the news sink in for two weeks, Western Australia’s newest Powerball multi-millionaires arrived at Lotterywest Head Office to claim their $3 million Division 1 prize.

The South West couple had been playing the same numbers each week so they recognised them in their Play Online account as soon as they came up after the draw.

“It only took me ten years to memorise the numbers we chose! They’ve worked out to be a pretty good set, we can’t believe we’ve finally hit the jackpot,” said the man.

“Playing Lotto gives you the avenue to dream about all the things you could do if you won. We’ve always loved having something to dream about for the future.”

Plans to explore more of the world, helping those who have helped them in the past, donating to charity and investing in their superannuation can all be achieved with the couple’s Powerball millions.

“We cooked a few snags on the barbie to celebrate when we found out. Gourmet of course!” laughed the man.

This is the third Division 1 prize won by a WA player through Play Online so far this year with those winners sharing in more than $4 million in prize money.

It’s not just winners that benefit from playing Lotterywest Games, with Lotterywest directly distributing money raised from its lottery products back to the WA community to support not-for-profit organisations.

Local groups to receive this support include Enable Southwest in Bunbury which received a $311,071 Lotterywest Grant in May. These funds were used towards the purchase of information technology equipment to support improved services for people living with disability and mental illness.
