Saturday Lotto luck strikes ahead of $20 million Saturday Superdraw

Just days out from the weekend’s $20 million Saturday Superdraw, a Saturday Lotto punter is set to pocket almost $685,000 after Western Australia produced its 46th Division 1 winner over the weekend.

The winning ticket was sold at 160 Central News in the city and comes only a few days after a woman claimed the State’s first Set For Life win for the year worth $4.8 million.

160 Central News owner Joseph Wee said there had been a flurry of excitement at his store this morning.

“Customers have been ducking in before work – not only to see if they’re $685,000 richer but also to pick up a ticket for this weekend’s Saturday Superdraw,” Mr Wee said.

“What a way to start the working week – whoever the lucky punter is, I reckon they’ll be laughing all the way to the bank on their lunch break,” he said.

Lotterywest spokeswoman Chloe Lawler said she hoped the State’s Saturday Lotto winning streak would continue with $20 million up for grabs this weekend.

“The countdown to this weekend’s Saturday Superdraw is on,” Ms Lawler said.

“With two jackpots this week – $15 million in Tuesday’s Oz Lotto draw and $10 million in Thursday night’s Powerball – as well as this weekend’s $20 million Saturday Superdraw, we’ve already got the champagne on ice in anticipation of a week of wins,” she said.

“In fact, we’ve never welcomed so many punters to our winner’s room as we have in the past few months and we’re looking forward to welcoming many more,” Ms Lawler added.

Punters have until 6pm on 2 September to purchase a ticket in the Superdraw from Lotterywest in-store, via Play Online or by downloading the app.
