WA produces another weekend winner

One lucky punter is set to start the working week in the Lotterywest winner’s room after it was revealed Padbury News and Post produced a Division 1 winning Saturday Lotto ticket across the weekend.

The ticket, which remains unclaimed, is worth almost $1 million and marks the 35th Division1 Lotto win for Western Australia so far this year.

Lotterywest spokeswoman Chloe Lawler said the weekend win comes as Lotto fever well and truly grips the people of Perth ahead of tomorrow night’s $50 million OZ Lotto jackpot.

“While Lotto is very much a game of chance, the odds certainly seem to be in our favour,” Ms Lawler said.

“With the State is now producing more than one Division 1 winner per week, there are 50 million reasons to grab a ticket in tomorrow night’s jackpot,” she added.

Ms Lawler said Lotterywest retailers were preparing to sell around half a million tickets in the lead up to the $50 million OZ Lotto jackpot.

“This is the largest jackpot we’ve seen for OZ so far this year – a massive $50 million,” she said.

“And while Lotto luck doesn’t discriminate, we’ve certainly seen winning trends in Rockingham, Mandurah, Bunbury and Joondalup,” she added.

Ms Lawler said it was expected sales in tomorrow’s jackpot would peak around 4pm, with retailers churning out more than 400 tickets per minute.

“Don’t let the lines deter you,” she said.

“Our retailers are in the business of making dreams come true and with $50 million on the line you’ve got to be in it to win it,” she added.

Its predicated sales over the $50 million OZ Lotto jackpot roll will generate almost $7 million for the State, with tickets available until 6pm on draw day in-store, through Play Online or by downloading the Lotterywest app.
