Padbury family brave the weather to collect $572,766 Lotto prize

Lotterywest’s eager three week wait for a mystery Saturday Lotto winner to claim their prize has now come to an end.

A family from Padbury have braved the weather today to collect their $572,766 Division 1 prize from a ticket purchased at Padbury News & Post.

The winners watched their now favourite Lotto draw on TV but at the time thought they only had four winning numbers on the ticket, despite having played the same numbers for 15 years.

“I thought I’d better double check the four numbers were correct and that was when I realised I didn’t just have four, I had all six of my numbers and couldn’t believe it!” said the father.

“When I showed my wife she was pleased that we might get a few thousand dollars, she nearly fell over when I told her it was going to be a lot more.”

The family’s old ‘vintage’ car will be put to rest and upgraded to a newer model with their winnings plus they will now be able to take care of all the things around their house that need fixing.

“We’ll definitely keep playing. They’ve proven to be good numbers and lightening can certainly strike twice!” said the winners.
