Morley Millions lives up to its name making a Lotto millionaire

One lucky Lotto player from Western Australia is over $1.3 million richer and might not even know it following the sale of the State’s sixteenth Division 1 winning ticket for 2017.

The Saturday Lotto ticket was sold at Morley Millions and remains unclaimed.

Lotterywest spokeswoman Pina Compagnone said the weekend windfall marked the fourth Division 1 win for the area in less than two years.

“Across the last two years we’ve given away more than $31.7 million in Division 1 prizes to punters who have purchased tickets in Morley,” Ms Compagnone said.

“The area has certainly continued to live up to its reputation as a Lotto luck hotspot,” she added.

Ms Compagnone said another nine Saturday Lotto players from WA also picked up $11,000 in Division 2 prize money.

With Tuesday’s OZ Lotto worth a cool $5 million, Morley Millions owner Nghia Dinh said he hoped the area’s run of luck would continue.

“Powerball on Thursday also carries a $6 million Division 1 prize,” Mr Dinh said.

“With Morley producing so many winners I might have to pick myself up a ticket too,” he laughed.

Mr Dinh said it was important to remember that Morley’s good fortune didn’t stop at Lotto prize money.

“Lotterywest recently contributed more than $115,000 toward emergency relief for families and individuals living in my community,” he said.

“For every dollar my customers spend on Lotterywest games more than a third is returned to benefit the community,” he added.

Mr Dinh said Lotterywest had also contributed $20,000 to Morley’s Autumn River Festival and over $80,000 toward outdoor place spaces to enhance early learning opportunities for local children.
