Missing Rockingham millionaire comes forward as we count down to tonight’s $30 million Powerball jackpot

Almost three months on from the draw, a Rockingham woman in her 40s has finally come forward to claim a $1.3 million Division 1 Lotto prize.

The woman said the winning ticket had been sitting on her breakfast bar nearly forgotten.

“I just hadn’t got around to checking it,” the woman said.

“I’d heard on the radio a few times there was a missing Rockingham millionaire but there’s no way I thought it could be me!” she said.

“It really hasn’t sunk in yet but I’m sure it will when there are a few more zeroes looking back at me in my bank account,” she added.

The winning ticket was purchased from Rockingham Central Lottery Centre for a Saturday Lotto draw held on 18 FebruaMeanwhile, there’s only hours left until tonight’s $30 million Powerball jackpot goes up for grabs.

No-one across the nation has been able to match the Powerball plus all the six winning numbers for the past four weeks, resulting in the multi-million dollar Division 1 prize pool offer.

Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone said tonight’s jackpot was set to create a buzz across the State with ticket sales likely to peak in the afternoon.

“Almost 350,000 tickets are expected to be sold across WA for the draw,” Ms Compagnone said.

“Our busiest hour will see over 350 tickets purchased each minute,” she added.

Tickets for the $30 million Powerball jackpot are available until 6pm tonight from Lotterywest retailers’ in-store, through Play Online or by downloading the Lotterywest App.

When you play Lotterywest games, the money stays in WA. Over the Powerball jackpot roll, almost $3.5 million has been raised to support the WA community. Tonight’s draw is set to raise a further $1 million.
