After waiting more than two weeks for the winners of the $673,151 Saturday Lotto prize from Tuckerbox Stores in Kununurra, a local family have finally come forward to collect the prize.
The Kununurra family said when they were going about their weekly ritual of buying a Saturday Lotto ticket; they never imagined that it would be the ticket sending them to the Lotterywest Winners Room.
“I was checking social media on the Saturday night and saw that someone in the area had won Lotto, so we all ran over to check our ticket!” said the family.
“It was very surreal and we were all so excited. I’ve been feeling so scatterbrained since realising the big news.”
When the winners called their relatives to share the news they were met with even more excitement.
“I called my sister and she screamed like a banshee when I said we’d just won Lotto,” said the mum.
“Since then she’s been calling me at all hours of the day and night with ‘ideas’ for our winnings like a boat or a car.”
The family said they can now pay off their house, purchase a new car and go on a family holiday.
Meanwhile, Lotterywest is still waiting to hear from another Saturday Lotto winner who purchased their $785,465 Division 1 winning ticket from Margaret River Newsagency on the draw held on 10 December.
