One lucky Western Australian player could be set for an extra special Mother’s Day after taking out a $2.6 million Division 1 Lotto prize last night.
WA’s winning ticket was one of eight delivered nationally in the $21 million Saturday Lotto Superdraw.
The State’s winner was purchased from Newburn Newsagency in High Wycombe.
Owner of the store Eddy Nitiprecha said it was the second Division 1 winner he had sold in his12 years of ownership.
“I’m so happy I’ve made one of my customers a multi-millionaire and I just want to congratulate them,” he said.
“The Lotto luck is here to stay and we’re going for a third big win. Hopefully my big Buddha will help with that!”
A further 190,640 other WA players picked up a Superdraw prize last night, including 19 lucky locals who each pocketed a Division 2 prize worth almost $10,000.
WA’s tally of Division 1 Lotto winners for the year has reached 24. These winners have shared in almost $62 million of prizes.
The $2.6 million Division 1 winner from last night’s Superdraw remains unclaimed.
Local Lotto players will have another chance to win big when a $15 million OZ Lotto jackpot goes on offer this Tuesday.
Tickets are available until 6pm jackpot day from Lotterywest retailers in-store, online or by downloading the app.
Lotterywest spokesperson Pina Compagnone said it was also important to remember that even when local players don’t have a win, they’re helping the community have one of a different kind.
“Thanks to WA players who purchased tickets from us in last night’s Superdraw, we were able to raise $4 million to support great causes across our State,” she said.
