From recently redundant to WA’s latest Lotto millionaire!

Western Australia’s latest Lotto millionaire has wasted no time coming forward to claim his prize after being made redundant just three months ago.

The City of Canning man said he was told he’d lost his job after more than 10 years working for the company.

“The timing couldn’t be better and takes a lot of financial pressure off,” he said.

“I can stop working on all those hundreds of job applications now! I’m certainly in no rush now,” he laughed.

The winner initially thought his win was a few hundred bucks but was stunned to learn he’d become a millionaire.

“I’ve been playing Lotto for the last 15 years and it feels good to finally crack it,” he said.

The winning ticket was one of two Division 1 winners from across the country in last night’s Wednesday Lotto draw. The State’s winning ticket was sold at The Lucky Charm Karawara.

WA has now produced 21 Division 1 Lotto winners this year who have shared in almost $58 million worth of prizes.

When you play with Lotterywest – all of WA wins with over a third of money spent on Lotterywest games returned to the local community.

Support includes a Lotterywest grant for $20,000 to the City of Canning to help with community events held in the area in 2017.
