Celebrating 65 years in 2018, Australia's oldest arts festival will kick off with the free presentation, Siren Song - a large-scale, outdoor sound work that will take place for seven minutes at dawn and dusk in the central business district until February 18.
The Perth Festival, which is expected to attract hundreds of thousands of people to events in the CBD, Fremantle, Nedlands and Mount Lawley over the coming month, will support the creation of jobs in Western Australia's creative industries.
Perth Festival features more than 270 diverse international arts events for all ages, tastes and budgets, including:
Nine Perth-only national exclusives;
Two world premieres; and
Five Australian season premieres.
Perth Festival supporter Lotterywest has provided $7.5 million for the 2018 festival, which includes support for the Festival Connect program to foster the development of local artists and industry.
