Bunbury brings the bucks with $2 million Saturday Lotto prize

One lucky Western Australian is waking up $2 million richer after it was revealed Dream 2 Day in Bunbury produced a Division 1 winning Saturday Lotto ticket across the weekend.

The unclaimed ticket was one of two Division 1 tickets sold across the country.

Store manager Ms Julie West said there had been a flurry of excitement around town after news of the windfall spread.

“There are plenty of hopeful locals ‘dreaming today’ about how they might spend $2 million in prize money,” Ms West said.

“People have been rushing in to the store this morning to check and re-check their tickets,” she added.

Ms West said Lotterywest informed her that the weekend win marked the 52nd Division 1 for the State so far this year and the eighth Division 1 win for regional WA.

“With $15 million up for grabs in tomorrow’s OZ Lotto jackpot, let’s hope the country luck continues,” Ms West said.

In 2017 alone, Lotterywest has given away almost $23 million to regional winners in Collie, Northampton, Northam, Albany, Busselton, Geraldton, Australind and now Bunbury.

Ms West said it’s also important to remember that every time you play with Lotterywest you’re contributing to the things that make WA great.

“For every dollar spent on Lotto games, around one third is returned to benefit the local community,” she said.
