The grant recipient's role

The grant process

Even though you may have already received the grant money and we may have listed the grant on our website, if you've been advised that a Member of Parliament (MP) will present you with a certificate, please consider the certificate presentation as the official public announcement of your grant.

What, when and where

When you are contacted by the MP, you should agree on a date, time and what sort of occasion is most suitable (and manageable) for you. The presentation event can be as large or small as you like. You should discuss who will take responsibility for both the ceremony itself and any media or publicity. To help you we’ve provided tips about contacting the media and sample media releases associated with grant announcements.

If your organisation has not heard from the MP's office within ten days of receiving the letter from Lotterywest, please make contact with us on 08 9340 5112 or email and we will follow up with the MP on your behalf.

When it's confirmed

Once you have confirmed the venue, date, time and type of function with the MP please advise us on 08 9340 5112 or email We do like to attend if we can. We also encourage the attendance of Lotterywest retailers who help to make our grants possible. For advice on which Lotterywest retailers to invite, please contact us.

Please consider inviting others with a close interest in your organisation. Many people will be pleased to see public recognition of your success and to show their support for what you are doing.
