The Grant Approval Process

If your application is approved you will receive a Grant Approval letter advising:

• What has been approved
• How your grant will be paid and
• Any special grant conditions

You may also be encouraged to acknowledge the project and Lotterywest's support. Refer to the Grant Acknowledgment section.
You will also receive a letter if your application is not approved setting out why it was not approved.

Grant Payment

Grant recipients will be sent a Grant Approval letter setting out what has been approved and what is required for payment to be made.

Most Lotterywest grants are paid through Electronic Funds Transfer and some are paid by cheque. Cheque payments are generally where there is a grant condition that must be met before payment can be made. These conditions will be outlined in the Grant Approval Schedule attached to the Grant Approval letter.

The Grant Approval Schedule will also provide you with contact details for a member of our grants team for queries about payment.

Grant Acquittal

Grant Acquittal usually requires you to:

• Comply with the grant agreement
• Meet any grant conditions and
• Demonstrate expenditure of the grant

The requirements for every grant are contained in the Grant Conditions, provided at the back of the Application Form. These Conditions must be signed before an application can be considered.

The Grant Approval letter will remind you about the Grant Conditions and advise of any special conditions and payment requirements such as submitting invoices or receipts for payment or advising Lotterywest of any changes in circumstances in relation to the grant.

The special conditions usually form part of the Grant Approval Schedule. These conditions need to be met for a grant to be acquitted. If a grant is to be paid in instalments, then you will often have condition/s to meet before receiving the next payment, e.g. to provide progress reports on the project and demonstrate expenditure of a previous payment.
