Merredin Men’s Shed

The Lotterywest supported Merredin Men’s Shed was officially opened on 18 September 2014. A $150,000 grant went towards the construction of this new purpose built facility that has created a range of new and improved opportunities for local men and seniors.

The shed is a home away from home for members who love getting together to work with their mates on hobby projects, community ventures, handyman activities or just socialise.

Men’s Shed Chairman Mr Jim Flockart said that recent projects included making crystal radio sets, creating a coffee table from a packing case and restoration of vintage engines. One important project was the refurbishment of the Police Accident Trailer for use on the great Eastern Highway during the Easter long weekend this year.
