Service Accommodation and Community Facilities
Broad Grant Types
Lotterywest recognises the value to community organisations of having access to safe, secure, affordable, appropriate and accessible accommodation to enhance their service delivery as well as the importance of various facilities in helping enhance participation in community life. We see our role as responding to community need, in particular where there is a lack of suitable alternatives for an agency or community.
Assistance may be provided with the costs of purchase, construction, alteration, addition, fit out or leasing.
Service Accommodation and Community Facility Grants may contribute to:
- Community Service Agencies towards shared office accommodation for the central administration and/or services of one or more community service agencies
- Community Buildings towards the parts of a building that will be used by a cross-section of the broad community, such as meeting rooms, a creche, community training rooms etc
- Interpretive Centres towards the broad community use and not-for-profit parts of an Interpretative Centre
- Community Playgrounds and Skateboard Parks towards the cost of installing or developing a community playground or skateboard park, where support is also being provided by the local government authority or a local not-for-profit community group
- Recreation Trails through an annual grant round offered by the Department of Sport and Recreation in partnership with Lotterywest
- Fit out where resources for the building are provided from another source.
- Leasing costs for an interim period in circumstances which could not have been planned for and, which without such support, would present significant disadvantage to the users of the service and or the quality of service provision.
