Our support in 2008/09: $13.4 million

Lotterywest maintains a strong relationship with the Department of Sport and Recreation, and through a statutory allocation of $13.4 million (in 2008/09), supports sporting clubs and associations throughout the State to deliver a diverse range of sport and recreational programs in the community.

We take great pride in the achievement of our athletes, and a major beneficiary is the WA Institute of Sport, which supports the development and delivery of elite programs for WA's top athletes.

Our investment is aimed beyond the game - it's all about the good that participation in sport and recreation can have on individuals and for the community. With our continued support tens of thousands of individuals, from young children enjoying weekend club sports to athletes competing at an international level can enjoy the social, physical and psychological spin-offs of engaging in sport and recreational activity.
