Good friends to share Wednesday Lotto Division One windfall

Two friends from Gosnells have come forward to claim the state's latest Division One win, worth over $300,000 from this week's Wednesday Lotto draw.

The friends, in their 50's, explained that they have been playing Saturday Lotto together for many years, but only two weeks ago had started buying Wednesday Lotto tickets.

The System 7 ticket, which they bought at Corfield News in Gosnells, won them not only the Division One prize, but also six Division Three prizes.

One of the friends told Lotterywest that he had recently been thinking about asking his employer for a pay rise, and that the Lotto win probably wouldn't stop him from doing so.

"I think I might still hit the boss up for that pay rise," he said.

The friends told Lotterywest that the money would be used to pay off the mortgage and to buy a new car and a boat. They said they would also share some with family members and each put a portion into savings.

Where is Willagee's $820,000 Division One winner?

Lotterywest is still waiting to hear from a Lotto player who purchased a ticket from Willagee Park Newsagency in the Saturday Lotto draw on 21 March this year.

The outstanding ticket holds a Division One prize of $820,000.

"We're eager to see this prize go to its rightful owner, so we encourage everyone who purchased a ticket at Willagee Park Newsagency in this draw to double check those secret hiding places," said Lotterywest spokesperson Jodi Eastman.

With WA Lotto players investing in their favourite game, 32 cents in every dollar spent on Lotto in the state is returned to support a large number of charitable groups and community events such as the Darlington Arts Festival, which is being held this weekend. www.darlingtonartsfestival.org.au
