Jurien Bay sells $5 million Monday Lotto Superdraw ticket
Jurien Bay Newsagency on WA's Coral Coast has sold the nation's only Division One winning ticket in last night's Monday Lotto Superdraw.
The ticket owner is set to pocket a prize worth $5 million; the second biggest prize amount won by a WA Lotto player so far this year.
When Lotterywest spoke to Jurien Bay Newsagency owner Thuc Nguyen this morning, he was thrilled to have sold the winning ticket but said that many of his customers were still not aware of the win.
"No-one seems to know yet, but I've been telling everyone coming through this morning to make sure they check their tickets," he said.
Last night's win backs up a weekend win of over $4 million, when a WA Lotto player scooped the entire Saturday
Lotto Division One prize pool. The winning ticket for this draw, which is still yet to be claimed, was sold at Archer Street Newsagency in the Perth suburb of Carlisle.
Jurien Bay Newsagency has sold country WA's 11th Division One winning ticket for 2009, meaning that country Lotto players have claimed 20% of the 55 Division One winning tickets in the state so far this year.
32 cents in every dollar spent on Lottery games in WA is directed back to WA health, sports, arts and a large number of community events including the Kings Park Wildflower Festival, which runs until the end of September.
