Powerball jackpots to $30 million

After six weeks of no-one in the nation being able to match the Division One winning numbers, Powerball has jackpotted to $30 million.

This comes a fortnight after the nation was swept into OZ Lotto fever when the game jackpotted to a record $90 million.

So far in 2009, Western Australia has seen one Powerball winner; a Bunbury resident scooping $3.3 million back in April.

In 2008, a Broome resident and a Mandurah resident each won themselves a Powerball Division One prize of $3 million.

To become a Division One winner and take out next Thursday night's $30 million Division One prize, players need to have the five winning numbers from barrel 'A', plus the winning Powerball from the Powerball barrel.

"Western Australian Lotto players will be crossing their fingers and hoping for 'One Powerball....' as the game's $30 million jackpot numbers are drawn next Thursday night," said Lotterywest spokesperson Jodi Eastman.

Tickets are available from $1.30 at the 490 Lotterywest outlets around the state by 6.00pm Thursday.

32 cents in every dollar spent by WA players on Powerball is directed back to the WA community, which include contributions to a large number of charity and community organisations.
