WA community the winner in OZ Lotto's jackpot draw

While no Western Australians were able to match the Division One winning numbers in last night's OZ Lotto draw, a South Australian and a Queenslander have shared the $106.5 million jackpot prize.

Player interest around the country saw the Division One prize pool balloon from $90 million to $106.5 million.

Each of the winners are set to pocket $53,274,992.38 and now stand as OZ Lotto's equal richest winners of all time.

The record Division One amount ever won in Australia is $58.7 million, collected in Victoria in June 2008 on the Powerball game.

Over 500,000 Western Australians won prizes in last night's other divisions, including six players who each scooped a $33,468 Division Two prize.

The Division Two winning tickets were sold at Cloisters Newsagency in Perth's CBD, Forum Newsagency in Floreat, Arcade News in Victoria Park, Coles Supermarket in Tom Price, Midland Newsagency and Meadow Springs Lottery Centre & Newsagency.

Western Australia experienced unprecedented interest in the draw with close to $30 million spent on tickets in the state.

"This draw certainly captured the imagination and interest of Western Australians, with over a million tickets sold in our state," said Lotterywest spokesperson Jodi Eastman.

32 cents in every dollar spent on tickets equated to approximately $9.5 million raised to benefit the WA community.

Over the 10 week OZ Lotto jackpot run, more than $20 million has been collectively raised for WA health services, sporting groups, arts, charity and community organisations.
