Lesmurdie couple join Division One winners' club

A couple from Lesmurdie have discovered that Division One winning feeling after taking home a prize of $142,857.15 from the Wednesday Lotto draw.

The wife, who bought the System 7 ticket from Kalamunda Central News & Books, said she had just been for a job interview yesterday morning before coming in to Lotterywest to officially claim the prize.

When asked if she thought she would get the job the woman responded:

"I don't know and I don't really care anymore!"

The woman said she used her own numbers on the ticket which were a combination of relative's birth dates. She was making dinner when the results were shown on the television and her husband called the numbers out to her.

As she had her numbers memorised, she responded: "I've got that one!" to every number he called out.

The couple said they would use their prize money to finish renovations to their home.

"I finally get my laundry finished!" said the woman.

By chance, the husband was good friends with a previous Division One lottery winner, who he called as soon as he discovered their win.

"I called him to say 'I finally know the feeling -  the Division One winners' feeling!'" said the man.

It's the second Division One winner sold by Kalamunda Central News & Books in November this year. The outlet sold a Division One winner in the November 1 Superdraw worth $769,230.77.

The latest win places the suburb of Kalamunda alongside Armadale as one of Perth's luckiest Lotto suburbs for the year to date. Perth City is leading the way as the luckiest place to purchase a Lotto ticket, with five Division One winning tickets sold in city outlets so far this year.
